Variations

I'm home for the holiday weekend. There's never much to do but sit on the couch, watch football and pull out my PC to work on old photographs. Recently I've been interested in learning HDR. This is my second try. The first photo is processed with Photomatix. The other two have additional processing in CS3 using some easy actions.

Skywatch 10.27.09

This was the view out my front door Tuesday morning. In the San Luis Valley of Colorado most mornings go from dark to light without much color in the sky. So, when I noticed the vibrant pink shining through my window, I braved the 0-10 degree temps to step outside and get a few shots.

This is almost SOOC. I just increased the black a bit to darken the neighbor's house at the bottom of the frame.

Its been a long time since I posted. I just haven't been motivated to do so. I still log in once or twice a day to read the blogs I follow, but that's about it. So anyway, this is another photoshop edit I did this past Sunday. Meet my oldest niece, B. I was just messing around, trying to fix her wonky hair. I ended up using the clone stamp to try and get rid of the worst of it. I wasn't really sure what else to try. She had some stray hairs running over her eye, and I used the healing brush to get most of those out of the way. But, she's such a pretty girl, with or without the messed up hair. The colors seem a bit off because I didn't change the profile to srgb, and I think the final looks a little too yellow here. But, I still like the picture.
